To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Heuer Monaco, I've created a print of the world’s first self-winding chronograph movement, the Calibre 11. In 1969, Heuer unveiled the movement in three different watches, including the Monaco made legendary worn by Steve McQueen in the 1971 film Le Mans

I approached this drawing a bit differently. I chose to render the movement in a graphic two-tone style so as to make it appear as though it's emerging through the white paper to connote the significant emergence of the Calibre 11 within the horological space. McQueen wears a racing suit in the film with two bold blue and red stripes and for the first time, I've applied colour to a limited edition print opting for 1970s infused-shades.

The original artwork is also available to purchase, send a note to inquire.
