A. Lange & Söhne Datograph
20" x 30", edition of 89 // 24" x 36", edition of 10
Without a doubt, this drawing is one of the most challenging I have ever worked on from the flat, even dial to the silky bezel to the extraordinary movement. Before starting, I was excited and properly intimated, walking by the blank sheet a dozen times before making the first mark that would eventually lead to 450 hours of mark making. I knew I had to create a piece that would feature both sides of this iconic timepiece as the movement is absolutely exquisite. In the Spring, I had the honour of seeing the Lange movements and timepieces up close while visiting the HQ in Glashütte. It was a remarkable experience to witness such a special place in pursuit of excellence and astounding craftsmanship. I've created 99 prints in total to commemorate the year the Datograph launched.
